Boost for RTU as captain David Abagna returns after a long injury layoff

Ghana Premier League side Real Tamale United have been handed a squad boost with the return of captain David Abagna Sandan as they seek to maintain their status in the league.

Abagna after a flying start to the Premier League campaign earned a call up to be part of the Black Stars 28-man squad that represented the country at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon where Ghana suffered group stage exit.

The enterprising midfielder suffered a foot injury at training at the tournament that has kept him out since.

The former Ashantigold SC forward has recovered and has been spotted training with his outfit, according to media reports.

His returns comes as huge boost for the Northern Blue who are currently struggling in the domestic top-flight.

He bagged 8 goals before injury plagued his season. The midfielder will not be available for the side game against league leaders Kotoko but is expected to feature in subsequent games.
