Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku banned for betting involvement

Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku has been slapped with a one-game ban for failing to comply with a sports betting ban in France.

Djiku was hit with the ban earlier today and he will miss RC Strasbourg’s game against reigning French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on Wednesday, December 28 as a result.

The Black Stars centre-back was one of 76 individuals implicated in the betting controversy for not respecting rules laid down by the Ligue de Football Professionnel (Professional Football League).
