Berekum Chelsea sack head coach Abdul Hernan

Berekum Chelsea have parted ways with head coach Abdul Hernan after the team’s poor start of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

The news makes him the third coach to be sacked so far in the ongoing premier league season.

He joins the likes AshantiGold’s Ernest Thompson and Medeama’s Ignatius Fosu, both sacked over unsatisfactory results a couple of days ago.

Coach Hernan was named as the substantive coach prior to the start of the new season following the exit of Seth Hoffman, who guided them to a 10th place finish last season.

The Blues have been very poor this season after three matches, bagging just one point from a possible nine.

The team lost to debutant Gold Stars, drew with Eleven Wonders before losing to Karela United in last Sunday’s fixture.

The former Ghana Premier League champions are currently 15th on the league table and reports say that appears to have angered its supporters who called for his dismissal.

Information reaching says assistant coach Moses Cofie will lead the club when they host this season sensation, King Faisal FC, this Friday at the Golden City Park in their week 4 fixture.
