The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, has cautioned the public that the state will no longer overlook attacks on security personnel.

He says any such actions will meet a strong and decisive response as government works to protect those who serve on the front line of national safety.

He made the remarks during a ceremony to hand over forty advanced armoured vehicles to the Ghana Police Service.

The new vehicles were presented by President John Dramani Mahama as part of a broader effort to strengthen internal security and modernise the resources available to law enforcement.

The Minister said government is committed to building a more effective and intelligent security system that can keep the country peaceful and stable.

Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak urged police officers to use the new vehicles responsibly and to continue serving the public with professionalism, discipline and integrity.

He reminded them that improved equipment must go hand in hand with respect for citizens and careful use of authority.

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the service, the Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohunu, expressed gratitude to the President for his continuous support in retooling the police.

He assured both the President and the public that officers remain dedicated to protecting communities and carrying out their duties with commitment.

During the ceremony, the Interior Minister delivered a clear warning about the safety of security officers.

“Attacks on security personnel would no longer be tolerated and would be met with a firm and decisive response,” he said.

The new vehicles are expected to strengthen police presence across the country and improve their ability to respond swiftly to threats while ensuring greater confidence among both officers and the public.
