Former Ghana international Asamoah Gyan has paid a courtesy call on President of Zanzibar, Hussein Mwinyi.
The former Black Stars skipper visited the Island nation for personal business and seized the opportunity to meet with the president.
Gyan intends to play huge roles in youth empowerment and uplifting sports in the East African nation.
“Honored to meet His Excellency Dr. Hussein Mwinyi, the President of Zanzibar. An inspiring discussion on sports, youth empowerment, and community development. Looking forward to our collaborative efforts to uplift and inspire the next generation!” wrote Gyan.
This is Gyan’s second meeting with an African president, having previously visited Zimbabwe’s head of state Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Gyan, since announcing his retirement from football has been embarking on a lot of projects including the All Regional Games, which has been slated for November 2024.
The former Black Stars skipper was named as the leader of Dr. Bawumia’s manifesto committee.
Gyan is Ghana’s all-time leading scorer with 51 goals from 109 international appearances.
