Apply for World Cup visa as early as possible- Canadian High Commissioner to Ghana [VIDEO]

Canadian High Commissioner to Ghana, Myriam Monrat, has called for persons interested in travelling to Canada for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to apply for visas as early as possible.

She said this as Canada prepares to host next year’s World Cup along with the United States of America and Mexico; the 2026 edition is the first in the competition’s history to have 48 countries compete.

While speaking on the country’s preparations for the upcoming tournament, the High Commissioner said that Canada is working closely with Mexico and the U.S. to ensure cohesion and coherence.

“We are working very closely with our colleagues in the U.S. and Mexico just to ensure that we have some cohesion and coherence in the way in which we approach the World Cup.”

“My advice would be for people that are interested in attending the World Cup to ensure that they are putting in their visa application as early as possible. The best way is to go directly to the source to avoid scammers.”

“Our objective is to ensure that the project is as smooth as possible; we are anticipating that there would be lots of demands hence my recommendation to actually put in an application as soon as possible” she said.
