Alexander-Arnold dropped from England Squad for upcoming World Cup Qualifiers

Mere days after coming off the bench in Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Real Oviedo in the Spanish La Liga, right full back Trent Alexander-Arnold has not been named in England’s squad for upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Alexander-Arnold, who moved from Liverpool to Real Madrid in this offseason, came off the bench in the 87th minute to replace veteran Dani Carvajal in the win over Oviedo.

England are scheduled to take on Andorra on September 6 and Serbia in Belgrade on Tuesday, September 9 in Group K.

England manager Thomas Tuchel named his 24 man squad on Friday, August 29 and called up the likes of Newcastle United full back Tino Livramento and Tottenham Hotspurs winger Djed Spence.

The likes of Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill and Jude Bellingham missed out on a call up due to injury while Phil Foden and Jack Grealish were not named in the squad.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford who is on loan at FC Barcelona, has been named in the squad marking his return to England’s National Men’s Football Team.
