Moses Parker advocates for starting roles for home-based trio in Black Stars against Madagascar

Medeama President Moses Armah Parker wants Black Stars coach Chris Hughton to hand starting roles to the home-based trio in the opening 2026 World Cup qualifying game against Madagascar.

The former Premier League manager handed call-ups to three local players who ply their trade for Medeama. Striker Jonathan Sowah and defender Abdul Fatawu Hamidu were included in the initial 25-man squad before centre-back Nurudeen Abdulai earned a late call-up to replace Abdul Mumin.

According to Moses Parker, it will be prudent for the Black Stars technical team to use local players in the national team to face Madagascar due to African experience.

“I prefer local players in the Black Stars play against Madagascar so we can overcome them. The style of play in Africa is different from that of Europe, so I think the local players in the team must be given the chance to start”

“Medeama is playing in the CAF Champions League, fortunately for us, we have players who are playing in Africa with Medeama and are in the national team. having competed with some of the players on the continent, I think it will be prudent for us to use those players against Madagascar” he told Kessben FM monitored by Footballghana.com.

Ghana are aiming to kick start the qualifying campaign on a high when they lock horns with Madagascar.

After the Madagascar clash, the West Africa powerhouse will travel to Moroni to face Comoros on Tuesday, November 21.

Ghana are aiming for its fifth World Cup qualification having participated in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2022.
