Black Galaxies head coach Annor Walker will the opportunity to access his team’s readiness for the 2023 African Nations Championship with a friendly against Egypt’s U20 team.
The match is expected to be hosted at Cairo International Stadium today, Tuesday, 27 December 2022.
”Ghana’s home-based national team are currently in Cairo as part of preparations for the upcoming TotalEnergies African Nations Championship(CHAN) which will be staged in Algeria from January 13- February 4, 2023.
“Tuesday’s friendly against Egypt U20 will be the first of friendly games the Black Galaxies will play during their stay in Egypt,” an official statement on the GFA website said on Monday.
The friendly is coming up after a delegation made up of players, technical staff and officials of Ghana’s home-based national team arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo on Saturday for camping which is scheduled to last for 18 days.
The camping will also have the Black Galaxies playing a couple of test matches before flying to Algeria for the tournament.
Ghana are in Group C alongside Madagascar, Sudan and Morocco for the competition which runs from 13 January-14 February 2023.
