Pursue peace, righteousness daily, not just at Christmas-Rev Atsu

It was all joy at the Trinity Parish of the Global Evangelical Church at Kotobabi in Accra on Wednesday as the congregations celebrate the commemorative birth of Jesus on Christmas Day.

Led by their Head Pastor, Rev  E.A Babaneto, they sang and danced, as they joined Christians across the globe for the symbolic celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ—the Founder of the Christian faith.

In a sermon themed “Peace be unto you,” the Assistant Pastor of the Church, Rev Freeman Atsu, urged the congregation to pursue peace and righteousness.

In the message anchored on Luke 2:14 and Isaiah 9:2-4, he said  “Peace means the absence of hostility among nations or people. The existence of harmony among people. It also means success, the wholeness of life, prosperity, security, good health and fulfilment.”

“As an individual, you need peace within yourself and trusting and depending on God to grants you that peace. We need peace in our relationships and so we must pursue peace and holiness. We also need peace in our country, among nations and communities.

“To have peace, you must accept Jesus the Prince of Peace. This will guarantee your peace with God. Ungodliness disturbs the peace of God and also results in all sorts of trouble in people’s lives. But a righteous living produces peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,” he said.
