Public basic schools to go on mid-term break from October 31 to November 3

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has declared that all basic schools nationwide will take a mid-term break on Friday, October 31, and Monday, November 3, 2025.

Daniel Fenyi, the Public Relations Officer of the GES, stated in a release on Thursday that there will be no classes for both teachers and students on these two days, which are already part of the academic calendar.

“Basic schools will, for the first time, observe a mid-term break on Friday, October 31, and Monday, November 3, as already captured on the academic calendar,” the statement said.

Mr. Fenyi mentioned that this brief break would provide an opportunity for teachers and students to rest and rejuvenate for the remainder of the term.

This directive applies to all public and private basic schools under the Ghana Education Service.
