President John Dramani Mahama has nominated a new group of ambassadors and high commissioners, aimed at strengthening the nation’s diplomatic connections globally.
In a letter dated July 21, 2025, addressed to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, it was revealed that eight individuals have been selected after consultations with the Council of State.
The nominees include Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah for Namibia, Kojo Choi for South Korea, Dr. Kwame Ampofo for Hungary, and Mona Helen Kabuki Quartey for the Italian Republic.
Additionally, Magnus Kofi Amoatey will represent Ghana in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenneth Akiibate will head to Burkina Faso, Said Saleh Sinare will go to Saudi Arabia, and Paul Evans Aidoo is earmarked for Kenya.
The letter also highlighted a change in Ghana’s representation to the Vatican City State, confirming that Mr. Benedict Batabe Assorow will replace Mrs. Satireh Dorcas Ocran as Ambassador-designate.
