Police, National Security storm Wontumi’s home with search warrant

A joint team of police officers and National Security operatives on Friday, May 23 stormed the residence of Bernard Antwi Boasiako widely known as Chairman Wontumi and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to execute a search warrant.

Sources indicate that the warrant authorises security personnel to search the premises, though the exact reasons behind the operation remain unclear.

At the time of the operation, Chairman Wontumi’s whereabouts were unknown.

The unexpected move has drawn a swift response from the NPP, with several senior party officials in the Ashanti Region reportedly arriving at the residence to monitor the situation.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the motive or findings of the search.
