A former presidential aspirant and leader of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has been discharged from the COVID-19 isolation centre at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Sharing his COVID-19 recovery journey on social media, the politician said he was grateful to “God and my family for all their support and effort. To my wife, I say a big thank you, May God continues to bless you and protect you for me. And to my loved ones and all those who prayed for me I say big Ayeko.”
Mr Ayariga, who was on admission for two weeks, expressed his gratitude on Facebook to the doctors and nurses at the hospital as well.
“Help me thank all the Doctors, Nurses, EMTs, Orderlies, and all medical officers and personnel of International Maritime hospital ( IMAH) and KBTH for their wonderful and excellent service and treatment. And to All those who interceded on my behalf, I say a big thank you” he noted.
The politician then threw in a word of caution to critics who believe they were invincible against the coronavirus.
“Covid 19 is real and it’s no respecter of persons. Wear your nose mask, wash your hands, and stay safe” he added.
At the time of filing this report, Ghana’s Covid-19 active cases stood at 6,440 with 109,736 confirmed cases and 102,390 recoveries.
The death toll stands at 906.
