It will be recalled that in June 2021, two persons, Nasiru Yussif and Murtala Mohammed, were killed at Ejura. Three others were injured during a street protest in honour of Ibrahim Muhammed, known as Kaaka.

As a result, a three-member committee of inquiry was set up to look into the matter and, thus, the compensation.

The 55-page report recommended the payment of adequate compensation to the families of two deceased persons who died in the protest – Abdul Nasir Yusif and Murtala Suraj Mohammed, as well as Kaaka’sa’s family.

It also recommended the structural expansion of the Ejura Police Station and an increment in personnel to enable the police command to deal with such situations better in the future.
