GAF announces live firing exercise at Bundase Training Camp

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced that it will conduct a Land Combat Firepower Demonstration Exercise at the Bundase Training Camp on Friday, 31 October 2025.

In a statement released by the Department of Public Relations at the General Headquarters located in Burma Camp, Accra, the Armed Forces indicated that this exercise is part of their efforts to assess the operational readiness of personnel in safeguarding the nation against external threats.

The live exercise will utilise live ammunition, explosives, and heavy military equipment, which will generate loud noises and visible flashes.

Consequently, GAF has advised the general public, particularly residents of Dawhenya and nearby communities, to avoid the training area during the exercise period.

“The public is therefore advised to stay away from the training area and its surroundings during this period. Residents are also entreated not to be alarmed by the movement of troops, military vehicles, or the sounds of explosives that may be heard within the general area,” the statement read.

As per the release signed by Captain (Ghana Navy) V.A. Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations, sufficient safety measures have been implemented to ensure the safety of both residents and participants.

“The Armed Forces count on the cooperation of the general public during this exercise,” the statement added.
