The ongoing controversy over DStv subscription fees in Ghana has escalated, with the National Communications Authority (NCA) intensifying its regulatory actions.

The NCA confirmed it has received a formal response from MultiChoice Ghana following its earlier threat to suspend the company’s operating authorization and its demand for a detailed breakdown of the pay-TV provider’s pricing model.

In a statement released today, the regulator revealed that it has obtained significant commitments from MultiChoice Ghana after a series of engagements prompted by the company’s public statement on September 5, 2025.

According to the NCA, MultiChoice has agreed to fully participate in the Stakeholder Committee established by the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation.

The committee’s mandate is to assess and review DStv’s pricing structure in Ghana.

MultiChoice Ghana has also pledged to uphold due process, comply with Ghanaian laws, and respect the rights of consumers.

The Stakeholder Committee is set to hold its first meeting on Monday, September 8, 2025, where MultiChoice’s pricing practices are expected to face rigorous examination.

The NCA has assured the public of continued transparency and timely updates as the review process progresses.
