Kennedy Osei Nyarko, the Member of Parliament for Akyem Swedru in the Eastern Region, believes it’s time for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to actively involve former MPs, ministers, and party executives in its political framework.
He emphasised that as the party focuses on rebuilding, leveraging the expertise of these individuals can significantly bolster its foundation.
Their experience can be invaluable in various capacities within the party.
Nyarko pointed out a concerning trend: over the years, people who have served in such roles are often sidelined once they’ve left, which he argues isn’t beneficial for the party’s growth.
In a recent social media post, he advocated for the integration of former and current party members, stating, “As part of the re-building and re-structuring of our party, we need to initiate a process to integrate all former and past MPs, executives, PC aspirants, ministers and appointees into a pool of reservoir for the party to tap into their expertise, knowledge, and resources and also use them to run and handle some key issues within the party across all the 276 constituencies. This, I believe, will help the party to have a firm grip of the party at the grassroots and also build a united front among past and present administrators of the party,” he said.
