The Homicide Unit of the Ghana Police Service has exhumed multiple human remains buried in a shrine at Gblorkope in the Central Tongu District.
These human remains were uncovered during an operation following suspected ritual murder and the disappearance of 28-year-old Nelson Anyana.
The investigation into the murder of Nelson took a significant turn, leading to the discovery of several human bones, some of which were found buried beneath idols at a shrine.
Authorities have arrested and charged six individuals connected to the case of Nelson, who had previously been reported missing.
This breakthrough followed a search conducted by detectives from the Homicide Unit in Ho, accompanied by three main suspects, at a property suspected of being used for ritualistic activities.
The remains of Nelson Anyana, who had not been seen since December 2024, and three skeletal remains were uncovered at the Gblorkope shrine, confirming the police’s fears of a ritualistic murder.

Again, various human body parts, believed to belong to other victims, were discovered hidden in the nearby bushes, raising concerns that this site may have been utilised for serial ritual killings.
The suspects include Augustina Fiawoyife, who is unemployed; Wisdom Hedidor, an herbalist; and Courage Bedzo, a kente weaver, all residents of Mafi Adidome.
The other three suspects, siblings known as Gblor Noah (also referred to as Ekpedzi), a 37-year-old fetish priest; Gblor John, a 38-year-old security guard; and 27-year-old Gblor Johannes, a lotto writer, reportedly operate the Gblorkope shrine.
The investigation began when Comfort Hatse, a trader from Donkorkrom and mother of the victim, reported him missing on December 17, 2024. She stated that her son had left home on December 4 to meet with the first suspect, Augustina, but never returned.
It was later revealed that Augustina was romantically involved with Wisdom Hedidor, who had become jealous of her relationship with the deceased. Allegedly, he devised a plan to eliminate him, which was subsequently carried out.
Around that time, Gblor Noah had reportedly sought a human body for ritualistic purposes, offering a significant payment in return. Courage Bedzo communicated this request to Hedidor, who consented to the plan.
On December 12, 2024, Augustina lured Nelson to a secluded spot near DC Bungalow, a suburb of Adidome. While engaged in conversation, Nelson was ambushed and strangled by Hedidor and Bedzo, with Augustina allegedly watching but not intervening.
Following the murder, Bedzo contacted Gblor Noah, who arrived at the scene with Gblor Johannes. Together, they purchased Nelson’s body for GH¢7,000 and transported it to the Gblorkope shrine, where it was involved in ritualistic activities before being buried beneath the idols.
All six suspects have been arraigned before a District Court in Ho following the recovery of Nelson Anyana’s remains and those of other unidentified individuals.
They have been charged with abetment of crime, to wit, murder and conspiracy to commit crime.
Meanwhile, the police have assured that forensic analysis is underway based on the discoveries to determine the identities of the additional victims and file appropriate charges against the suspects accordingly.
