Legon to hold virtual congregation

2020 school of Law and medicine graduates of the University of Ghana will have their congregation held virtually on Thursday, July 30, 2020.

The decision according to school authorities is a result of coronavirus protocols.

“The decision to hold a virtual congregation was based on the current safety guidelines for meetings in large numbers, this virtual congregation will be a good opportunity for the university to test run the idea of the virtual congregation for small groups of graduating students,” a statement from the university said.

The government in its efforts to curb the spread of the virus banned political, religious, and sporting activities.

Since then corporate bodies, government agencies have had to hold virtual meetings.

“July 14th marks the 80th cabinet meeting but due to the outbreak of coronavirus and the social distancing protocol that has accompanied it, it has become necessary to hold the meeting virtually” Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said.

“Graduation details for all other final year students will be announced after the completion of the university examination process” the statement said.
