Roverman stages Festival of Plays at National Theatre

Roverman Productions has opened its annual Festival of Plays in Accra, offering theatre audiences a series of stage performances throughout the Christmas and New Year period.

The festival, which runs from December 24 to 28 and resumes from January 1 to 4, is being held at the National Theatre, with daily shows scheduled for 4:00pm and 8:00pm.

This year’s edition features six original stage productions written by renowned playwright Ebo Whyte, popularly known as Uncle Ebo Whyte. The plays include Terms of Divorce, Dubai or No Sex, The Ex Factor, Love on the Ropes, Voices in My Head, and Order for Four.

According to Roverman Productions, the selected plays explore themes centred on relationships, family life, personal struggles and broader social issues, using drama and humour to engage audiences.

To encourage wider patronage, the organisers have introduced multiple ticket categories.

Loyalty Card holders can access shows at a discounted rate through the Rover App, while regular tickets are available via the KORBA shortcode, ticket outlets and online platforms.

A festival package has also been introduced, allowing patrons to attend six plays at a reduced overall cost.

Roverman Productions stated that the pricing structure is designed to make theatre more accessible during the festive season.

The Festival of Plays is sponsored by Korba, Gino Jollof Mix, and Stanbic Bank, with MNotify serving as the communications partner.
