Court sentences woman to 15 months in prison for injuring a minor at Kenyasi

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has successfully obtained a conviction against a 34-year-old Nigerian citizen, Beauty Alakwe, for inflicting harm on a minor in Duase, located near Kenyasi in the Kenyasi District.

This conviction stems from an incident reported on November 22, 2025, when a resident, with assistance from the area’s Assembly Member, filed a complaint with the police regarding an alleged assault on a nine-year-old girl.

The police subsequently apprehended the suspect, who is the mother of the child.
