Twenty-five suspects believed to be involved in illicit drug activities and other criminal acts have been arrested in a coordinated police operation across the Techiman Municipality, as authorities intensify efforts to restore safety in the area.
The dawn swoop was carried out on December 16, 2025, by the Techiman District Police Command under the leadership of Superintendent Charles Atuah.
The operation targeted known criminal hideouts and drug-dealing spots that had been under surveillance for some time.
Police began the operation at Abamu, an area identified as a major hub for suspected drug activity. Thirteen suspects were arrested there after officers moved into several ghettos at daybreak.
Those picked up include young men and women between the ages of 18 and 28, many of whom are said to have been frequenting the area for suspected criminal dealings.
From Abamu, the team proceeded to Kenten, where six additional suspects were arrested following further searches.
The operation was later extended to Tako, resulting in the arrest of another six individuals believed to be linked to similar activities.
During searches conducted at the various locations, officers retrieved nineteen wrappers of a whitish substance suspected to be cocaine, as well as dried leaves hidden in a polythene bag believed to be Indian hemp.
All items have been secured to support ongoing investigations.
The suspects are currently in police custody, assisting investigators as preparations are made for the next stages of the legal process.
