Coronavirus: Close down the airport and other public places – Ghanaians to government

Following the two confirmed cases of coronavirus in Ghana, some Ghanaians have taken to social media to tell the government to take pragmatic actions to prevent the disease from spreading.

A Ghanaian actress in a post pleaded with government officials to close down the airports, schools and most public places.

The Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman Manu, yesterday, March 12, 2020, held an emergency press briefing to announce that Ghana had recorded two cases of the novel virus in Ghana.

The two cases, according to the Health Minister, tested positive after laboratory tests from the Noguchi Memorial Institute of Medical Research.

According to the Health Minister, the cases were “imported cases” as both individuals returned to Ghana from Norway and Turkey.

“Both individuals returned to Ghana from Norway and Turkey. So, these are imported cases of COVID-19,” he noted.
