Ghanaian model and actress, Nana Akua Addo, has spoken about how a moment on the red carpet shaped her career and aligned her purpose in the fashion industry.

In an interview on October 7, 2025, the fashion diva revealed that although she has always had a passion for fashion, it took years of dedication and mentorship to get to where she is now.

“I think it (fashion) has always been there. Let me use this privilege to say a big thank you to some of the few mentors that I have had in my life. I have had some of the great mentors in Ghana to mentor me. The likes of KKD, the late Kofi Ansah, Bola Ray, so I think it didn’t come easy. I worked, and I think I have earned this spot.

“It started from modelling, I’ve tried acting, and now fashion. I guess I tried every little thing, and I found one thing that works for me, which is fashion,” she said.

According to her, after Oscar Wards crowned her the ‘Best Dressed’ on the red carpet, her career reached a turning point, which she believes defined her purpose in the fashion industry.

“It was that day Oscar made me Best Dressed on the red carpet. I think that day just aligned my purpose in fashion when I won Best Dressed because I was ushered into the fashion world,” she stressed.

Nana Akua added, “People got to know me more for fashion than acting, and I didn’t want to let that opportunity slide. It paved the way for me, and here we are today.”
