The CDS also proposed establishing a childcare fund to support the dependents of officers who lose their lives while serving, stressing that such tragedies highlight the need for improved welfare support for military families.

Air Commodore Mathias Awuah, Chief Staff Officer at the Air Force Headquarters, praised the decision to honour the fallen heroes, noting that promotions reflect the utmost aspirations of military personnel.

Similarly, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frimpong, explained that although promotions are generally celebrated at the mess, the sombre circumstances warranted inviting the bereaved families to receive the insignia on behalf of the servicemen. He assured the families that all entitlements associated with the new ranks would be fully honoured.

During the ceremony, the bereaved families were also presented with a sum of GH¢315,000, graciously contributed by various institutions, organisations, and individuals to support them in their time of loss.
