A 42-year-old father, Daniel Baah, will spend the next 20-years in prison for impregnating his 14-year-old daughter.
The 14-year-old victim [name withheld] lived with her parents and five other siblings in a deplorable wooden structure at Anyaa Last Stop in Accra.
The teenager, a primary six pupil, is seven months pregnant.
In an interview with CrimeCheck Foundation, monitored by theghanareport.com, the father, a scrap dealer confirmed that his first sexual encounter with the victim, the oldest of his five children, occurred in June last year when he forcibly inserted his finger into her private part while she was asleep.
“I don’t understand what is happening, how did I do this?” he questioned
The abominable act was uncovered by the Girl Child Advocate attached to the Anyaa L/A Primary School, who saw the pregnant victim in school uniform and questioned her.
The victim then narrated her ordeal. The advocate reported the matter to the police, and Baah was arrested.
The police charged him with the offence and put him before the court, which sentenced him to 20 years in prison.
