Galatasaray have completed the sensational permanent signing of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, bringing an end to one of the summer’s longest-running transfer sagas.
The Turkish champions confirmed the deal earlier today, following weeks of negotiations with Italian side Napoli.
Osimhen had spent the previous season on loan in Istanbul, where he played a starring role in Galatasaray’s domestic dominance, scoring 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions as the club clinched the Super Lig title and Turkish Cup.
Despite initial doubts about a permanent stay, Galatasaray’s top brass mounted a determined push to keep the 25-year-old in Istanbul. Their efforts have finally paid off, with renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that the deal is worth €75 million, with potential performance-based add-ons.
