Members of the Minority in Parliament staged a walkout on Thursday, July 24, just moments before Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson was set to deliver the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review.
Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, stated that the caucus could not, in good conscience, participate in the budget presentation while serious issues plague the country.
Prominent among these issues is the concern surrounding the recent violence at the Ablekuma North by-election, which remains unresolved.
As part of their protest, the Minority has announced plans to submit a formal petition to key national stakeholders, including President John Dramani Mahama, the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO), and several civil society organisations, calling for accountability and swift action on the matter.
