Ghanaian actor John Peasah, widely known for his role as Drogba in the hit TV series YOLO, has reaffirmed his dedication to focusing on his recovery and personal journey towards healing and wholeness.
In a heartfelt Instagram story shared on June 16, 2025, the actor gave an update on his health, expressing gratitude for the progress he has made so far.
“I’m thankful for the progress God has granted me. At times, the physical pain was intense, but the spiritual comfort I received was deeply reassuring,” Drogba wrote.
He reflected on a transformative spiritual encounter during an all-night church service in 2024, shortly after being diagnosed with a demyelinating disease. That experience, he said, brought him significant relief.
However, Drogba also addressed how some bloggers misrepresented his statements about his recovery, leading to insensitive remarks online. In response, he emphasised his decision to rise above the negativity.
“Who wants to trend while they’re in pain? I choose not to focus on the negative. Instead, I’m committing myself to a journey of healing, physically and spiritually,” he wrote.
“I affirm that I am strong, capable, and deserving of love and care.”
In March 2024, Drogba was diagnosed with a severe demyelinating disease, as well as Sleep Apnea, a condition that disrupts breathing during sleep, and Stiff Person Spectrum Disorder, a rare neurological disorder. He has been using a CPAP machine to aid his breathing and is now gradually recovering.
The actor continues to keep his fans updated on his health as he progresses on his path to recovery.
