The government has outlined a series of activities to mark Ghana’s 68th Independence Celebration.
In a statement signed by the spokesperson to the president, the celebrations will begin on Friday, February 28, with the commemoration of the 28th February Crossroad Shooting.
It will be followed by the finals of a nationwide school quiz competition on Sunday, March 2, and a debate competition on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
On March 5, the president will host the school children’s awards programme.
As earlier announced, the March 6 ceremonial parade will be held at the forecourt of the Presidency.
The statement added that the Communications Subcommittee of the National Celebrations Planning Committee (NCPC) will share information and educational content to increase public awareness ahead of the celebrations.
“With this new approach, we hope to reset the interest and participation of the youth and the general populace in this significant national event whilst remembering and honouring our heroes.
“We encourage the media, bloggers, and the public to actively participate by sharing information with your viewers, listeners, and readers,” the statement read.
