Interestingly, the same report mentioned that Ghana has seen a staggering 226 per cent increase in demand for heartbreak songs, especially on Valentine’s Day.

This suggests that while many people celebrate love, others find solace in music during this time.

Songs by prominent Nigerian artistes were also mentioned. They included Run Town’s Mad on You, Wizkid’s Piece of My Heart, Rema’s Baby (Is It a Crime) and 2Face’s If Love is a Crime.

In July 2024, Spotify unveiled 30 Ghanaian songs making a global impact in 2024 over the first half of the year.
