Saint Osei, has officially confirmed his resignation from Accra Great Olympics management.
In a letter released on Wednesday, Osei announced his departure from the Ghanaian football club, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve and stating his belief that it was time for new leadership to take over.
In his resignation letter addressed to the Board Chairman of Accra Great Olympics S.C., Osei praised the club’s Managing Director, Mr. Oloboi Commodore, for his commitment and hard work. He also expressed regret at having to leave during such a challenging time for the club.
Speaking to Peace FM as monitored, Osei clarified that his decision to resign was not solely based on the club’s relegation.
“Yes it is true it is not about our relegation I will still would have resigned even with our league status secured. I made up my mind to resign last season but some elders spoke to me so I had to stay on just for the love of the club,” he said.
“But I think it is about time if you are not liked somewhere you leave a section of supporters who also want the current management out. I took the decision before they came out with their statement so it is true,” he added.
The Dade Boys finished the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season in 16th place with 44 points.
