Players from Real Tamale United have decided to boycott their scheduled match against Dreams FC on Wednesday.
The reason behind this drastic step is the alleged non-payment of salaries for the past six months, as reported by Nhyira FM.
Consequently, the protesting players did not accompany the team to Dawu for the match. This is not the first instance of such an action by the players in the ongoing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season. The persistent issue of unpaid salaries has been a significant cause of unrest within the team.
Real Tamale United has been grappling with a multitude of challenges both on and off the field, leading to a disappointing season. The club’s misfortunes have now culminated in their relegation from the top tier of Ghanaian football.
Following the completion of their outstanding week 28 fixture against Dreams FC, Real Tamale United is set to face Accra Great Olympics in their final game of the season.
