A father who allegedly murdered his 3-month-old baby, his girlfriend, and a 17-year-old friend have been remanded by the Awutu Bereku District Court in the Central region.
The suspect, 21-year-old Bright Larvie, was arrested for allegedly beheading his child for money rituals.
Investigations led to the arrest of his girlfriend, Linda Asare, and their 17-year-old acquaintance, Kingsley Yeboah.
The incident happened Monday night after Bright visited the baby and the mother.
According to Bright’s friend, Kingsley, the baby was asleep while his mother (Linda) had stepped out to buy an item.
Bright then asked his unsuspecting friend to go and bring the baby out of the room, which he did.
Kingsley met Bright with the baby at a school park, where Bright allegedly murdered the baby.
The Awutu Bereku District Police Command arranged for the suspects to appear before a court presided over by Justice Naomi Kuntor.
The court, considering the gravity of the charges and the ongoing investigation, decided to remand the suspects into police custody.
The 17-year-old was sent to a special facility due to his age.
They are set to reappear before the court on February 5, 2024.
