One person has been shot by armed robbers on the Gomoa Potsin – Awomre Road in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The robbers are said to have blocked the road and robbed over 20 cars on their way to Agona Swedru, one after the other.
The victim was rushed to the Winneba Specialist and Trauma Hospital for treatment.
According to a police source, the robbers shot one of the drivers who failed to stop.
The incident happened on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at around 9 PM.
The immediate past Assembly Woman for Pamfokrm Electoral Area, Abena Adadaizua, confirmed the incident.
She claimed police officers at Gomoa Dominase and its environs failed to respond to their calls due to a lack of access to vehicles.
Abena Adadaizua called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare, to provide Gomoa Dominase District Police with vehicles to help fight armed robbers in the district.
