A man believed to be in his early 30s has been found dead with his manhood removed at Chiraa in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region.
The mortal remains of the yet-to-be-identified man were found in a bush near Chiraa Senior High School on Monday, October 30, 2023.
Residents in the area are speculating that the man may have been murdered by unknown assailants.
According to eyewitnesses they discovered the lifeless body of the man with his pants down under a three.
They revealed that the body of the deceased had begun decomposing at the time it was found, indicating that he must have died three to four days prior to his discovery
The situation according to them has sparked fear among residents in the area calling for improved security in the area.
Meanwhile, police in the Sunyani West Municipality have taken over the case investigating who must have killed the deceased.
The body of the man was yet to be conveyed to the morgue as of the time of filing this report.
Previous incidents
On November 9, 2021, a middle-aged man was found dead at Walantu, a suburb of Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
The unidentified man was found in a pool of blood with machete wounds.
It is believed that the man may have been beaten to death by his attackers and later dumped in the walantu community.
In October 2022, a man, 40, identified by a search team as Kwesi Alhaji, was found dead in front of an uncompleted building at Kasoa Opeikuma High-tension in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
He was in a shirt and boxer shorts.
He was found by a young man who went hunting for game in the bush.
A resident, Mr Okyere Boateng, told the media that the young man informed him about a pungent smell in the area while hunting for bush meat.
Mr Okyere said he organized some people and moved to the scene only to discover the almost decomposed body lying near the uncompleted building in the bush.
He said he then informed his landlord, who reported the matter to the police.
Also, in February 2023, a 55-year-old man identified as Kwame Entie was found dead in his room at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region. The decomposed body was found after a pungent smell wafted the area from the direction of his room.
It is reported that the deceased had been sick for quite some time, visited the hospital, and was gradually recovering until his demise.
Residents said he was not seen for days but their curiosity was aroused after they began to smell the bad odour emanating from his room and alerted the Police.
Following the report, the police embarked on a search on Sunday, February 19, 2023, and found his lifeless body in his room
On October 23, 2023, a woman believed to be in her late 20s was found dead at Kasoa America Town in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
The unidentified woman was found a half-naked body in a sack in an unused container shop.
