Despite suffering embarrassing defeats against the USA and Mexico in the recent international break, Ghana’s position in the October 2023 FIFA World Rankings remains unchanged.
The updated rankings were published on FIFA’s website on Thursday, October 26.
The Black Stars continue to hold the 60th position globally and maintain their standing as the 11th best-ranked team in Africa.
These rankings mirror the positions they held in the September rankings.
During the latest international fixtures, Ghana faced setbacks, conceding goals that led to a 2-0 loss to Mexico in the first of two friendlies on October 15.
Their struggles continued with a disheartening 4-0 defeat to the US three days later.
Looking ahead, Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton will be eager to regroup and address the team’s performance ahead of the November 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament scheduled for January.
The World Cup qualifiers will particularly determine the hopes Ghanaians will have for the team during the AFCON.
