Police hands over to GPRTU US$9,670 & other valuables found at Gomoa Okyereko accident scene

The Winneba Divisional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Police Command has returned the valuables found at the Gomoa Okyereko accident scene to the Buduburam GPRTU executives.

The valuables found in the aftermath of the crash were US$ 9,670, L$2,630, GH₵ 470,  six mobile phones, and personal effects.

According to the Winneba Divisional MTTD Commander, DSP Bertha Bogu,  1e accident victims are currently undergoing treatment at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.

One of the victims has also been referred to the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

Firefighters reportedly discovered almost US$ 9,000 while rescuing the victims and immediately handed the money to the authorities.

According to DSP Bertha Bogu, the recovered things have now been sent to the Buduburam GPRTU Chairman, who would then give them to the victims’ families.

The Buduburam GPRTU Chairman for the Ghana-Liberia branch, James Nuamah, also expressed his gratitude to the Winneba MTTD Police Command for their diligent efforts in rescuing the victims.

He also commended them for faithfully delivering all the recovered items to the rightful recipients.
