USA announce friendly match with Ghana in October

The United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) has announced that it will host two high-profile friendly matches against Germany and Ghana in October.

In an official Communique from the Ghana FA, the USMNT will play Germany on October 14th at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Connecticut, and Ghana on October 17th at Geodis Park in Nashville, Tennessee.

The two matches with the four-time World champions Germany and Africa’s football giant Ghana will provide an opportunity for the USMNT to prepare for its quarterfinal matches in the Concacaf Nations League in the month of November.

The USMNT and the Black Stars of Ghana have met several in the past, including in the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. The last meeting between the two sides was a friendly in 2017 when the Black Stars lost 2-1.

Speaking on the friendly, GFA President, Kurt Okraku said he has no doubt it will present a fine opportunity for the Black Stars to test their strength.

‘The game presents to us a very good platform to test our strength against one of the best teams in the World,” Kurt Okraku said as quoted on the GFA website.
