Breakdown of CAF’s new interclub money structure

In an effort to enhance competition, promote financial stability, and elevate the level of football across the continent, CAF has introduced a groundbreaking framework for allocating funds to participating clubs in their prestigious interclub tournaments.

The new prize money system for the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup was unveiled earlier this year by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe.

In accordance with Dr. Motsepe’s objective to making African football competitions highly competitive and resilient, the announcement saw prize money for the two competitions increase by 40%.

The winner of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League will now get USD 4,000 ,000 instead of USD 2,500,000. The prize money for the winner of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup has increased from USD 1,250,000 to USD $2,000,000.
