The Tax Compliance Unit of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has picked up two persons for failing to issue GRA cash invoices to clients.
They were apprehended as part of activities to enforce Value Added Tax (VAT) compliance.
The exercise is aimed at revenue mobilisation by checking if companies and business owners are issuing GRA invoice receipts to clients.
So far, the team has visited businesses such as Tasty Treat Co. Ltd and Obsession and Luxiwear.
The GRA officials discovered that all business owners issued their receipts instead of issuing GRA cash invoices.
The shop attendants of LuxiWear and Tasty Treat have been picked up by the enforcement team to the Criminal Investigations Department of the Police Headquarters for further investigations.
The enforcement teams explained that some members of their outfit went to those shops to buy goods and noted that wrong invoices were being issued.
