Legendary highlife musician Kwadwo Akwaboah has died.
He is the father of the young talented highlife artiste Gladstorm Akwaboah known in the showbiz circle as Akwaboah.
The news of his death was announced by Akwaboah on his Facebook page with the caption “R.I.P”, which connotes Rest In Peace.
Kwadwo Akwaboah passed away at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi in the early hours of Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
The cause of his death has not yet been disclosed.
Social media users and celebrities like Fameye have sent their condolences to Akwaboah and the entire family.
The late Kwadwo Akwaboah was a passionate organist and a singer from the early 90s known for his popular song, ‘Awerekyekyere’.
The veteran highlife legend and record producer went blind in the middle of his career whilst living in Amsterdam, Holland. He later moved to Ghana to join his family.
