Sensational highlife artiste Martin King Arthur known as Kofi Kinaata has revealed that the promotion of new songs on television or radio stations is very expensive.
The ‘Things Fall Apart’ hitmaker cleared the air on this topical issue as many people not within the entertainment industry think music played on air or shown on television is just for free.
According to Kofi Kinaata, you can be an artist with a very good voice and have the best song but if you don’t have money to promote the song in the media, no one will get to listen or watch your song continuously and love it most.
The recently crowned Best Highlife Artiste of the Year at the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report, “We virtually have to pay for all the hit songs you hear on radio and TV. In fact, you need to have a big budget for promotion anytime you release a song.”
Speaking on his new release, ‘Effiakuma Love’ in the reggae genre of music said; “I wanted to try something different from the usual use of Patios when doing Reggae songs. I wanted to use Fante and the comments I am getting are massive. The DJs play it a lot and I see loads of people doing videos with the song. The reception has been great,” he added.
The song is currently streaming on all music streaming platforms.
