Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have suspended winger Joseph Amoako indefinitely, the club has announced.
The 20-year-old has been punished for his gross misconduct on social media.
A statement from the club reads, “Joseph Amoako, 20, has been suspended indefinitely pending a final determination through the club’s disciplinary procedures.”
“This is due to his misconduct on social media which the club finds unacceptable.”
Amoako, who recently returned from a loan spell at relegated Swedish outfit, Helsingborgs IF has been training with Kotoko ahead of next season.
The winger was sentenced to prison in December 2022 by Helsingborg district court, which led to the contract termination of the Ghanaian youngster.
However, following appeals, it was discovered that the girl had lied about the incident, leading to Amoako’s release.
Amoako struggled for playing time at Helsingborgs IF where he made only ten (10) game outings — 295 minutes — for the club in all competitions.
