The artist, who seems not to be concerned much about the big contest, explained that in every competition, there will definitely be a winner.
According to him, whether he appears to be the lucky winner or not after the award night on Saturday, he will never forget to show appreciation to everyone who voted for him to win the prestigious Best Artiste of the Year especially.
Black Sherif alias Blacko has been nominated for nine categories such as the Best Artist of the Year, Best Hiphop/ Highlife Artist of the Year, Best Afropop Song of the Year, Best Music Video, Album/EP of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Best Reggae/Dancehall Song, and Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year.
Black Sherif, in an interview with blogger Zionfelix on his expectation towards the upcoming award night, said “We will walk onto the stage, take the award, and thank every single person. After Thanksgiving, we will go home and assemble all the rastas to have our special party. The next morning we’ll go back to making music, shoot a video and move forward with the work.”
Black Sherif, who faces stiff competition from several artists in his categories, especially Piesie Esther and Stonebwoy, was of the firm belief that his hard work will be rewarded by the scheme.
Speaking on how he might feel if he loses the contest for Best Artiste of the Year especially, he said, “We will stand up, go home. We will have a Thanksgiving with the rastas. The next morning, we will make new music, shoot a video and move forward with our life”.
