The senior pastor of the African Faith Tabernacle Church in Gomoa Jukwa in the Gomoa Central District in the Central Region, Prophet Sampson Obontan Bekoe, has been arrested by the Agona Swedru police for assaulting a church member.
Information gathered revealed that the victim, identified as Sister Abena, went to see the pastor and his wife and witnessed them arguing over a missing GH₵200 belonging to the pastor’s wife.
In the course of the argument, Prophet Bekoe’s wife accused him of taking the money.
According to close sources, the victim who had come to visit them seconded the claims made by the Prophet’s wife.
The church member claimed that the pastor had previously stolen a church guitar. Therefore, he might have stolen the GH₵200.
Infuriated by the accusation, the pastor allegedly pounced on the church member and beat her up mercilessly.
He allegedly thrashed her and left her face swollen with bruises.
