CSKA Moscow goalie Igor Akinfeev, who wrote himself into Russian football legend with his foot save against Spain at the 2018 World Cup, is now written into a list of “sanctioned” people by Ukraine’s govt.
Until 2073, Igor is not allowed visit Ukraine, open a bank account there or appear in news reports – because he works with a charity to help children affected by war.
The list, including 80 sportspeople, published Saturday also includes ice skaters Ilya Averbukh & Liza Tuktamysheva, gymnast Svetlana Khorkina, and shockingly wheelchair bound ex-soccer star Veniamin Mandrykin.
