Fast-rising Ghanaian highlife artiste Kenneth Kyeremateng professionally known as Kwame Yogot has said that he had no idea his name is on the nominee list for the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) scheduled for Saturday, 13th May 2023, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.
The artiste who has gracefully landed the best hiplife and best collaboration of the year nominations revealed that he never imagined his name will ever appear in the 2023 VGMA since his name often appears in the list but doesn’t grab any award.
“The truth is, I’m always busy in the studio.”
“The thing is, I wasn’t aware I had been nominated. You have to believe me, my focus is not on those awards.”
“In the last two years, I got plenty of nominations – about 10. I didn’t win even one, so right now I’m focusing on the work,” he added in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on Asaase radio.
“The only nomination I know about is the Ghana Music Awards UK one, which I saw in the flyer that I was nominated for – the hiplife category of the year,” he added.
Kwame Yogot has songs such as Virgin, For The Boys, Bitter Sweet, Nobody, Oh Ah, Feeling Okay, Hallelujah, and Finally.
