‘You need to be mentally strong as a celebrity in Ghana’- Harold Amenyah

Actor and television show host Harold Amenyah has opined that celebrities in Ghana need to be mentally strong as people will always criticize their decisions because of their fame.

Harold made this statement a few days after tying the knot with his long-time lover about whom social media users made several bad comments.

According to him, nothing will ever change his mind about loving his wife because she means a lot to him.

Moreover, he said there are times social media followers hail celebrities for no reason and there are times they criticize and judge celebrities for things that are not bigger issues so it’s normal.

To him, he doesn’t live a different life so he doesn’t know what people mean to be acting like a celebrity.

“I don’t really know what it means to be a celebrity. I only dress up and show up at events. If that’s what it means then that’s what I do that probably makes me look like a celebrity.”

“You need to be mentally strong, in the sense that you’re not moved by what people say. Of course, it’s good to have compliments, it’s good to have fans, and it’s good to have people shower praises on you but guess what, if that gets to your head then trust me their criticisms and negative comments will also get to you. So it’s good to have balance”, he noted in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on Joy.

Although there were several negative comments tagged to Harold’s wife, there were other strong women who saw beauty and intelligence in the wife and encouraged Harold never to make the mistake of giving up on the wife because she is very prettier and more resourceful than those jealous ladies making bad comments about the wife.

Some of their comments were “99% of the ”stuuup!d” comments which came from women who are no better than her. The 1% is from the Ghc50 beggar”.

“The most disparaging comments are coming from women. They’ll come after me but I don’t mind. Women are their own enemies. Men never do these things. Almost everything, it’s women doing these things to fellow women”.

Harold, the ‘YOLO’, and ‘Joeseph’ star actor after the comments have not been bothered to attack anyone.
